A city woman has changed the focus of her Colborne Street store to meet a growing demand for needlework accessories and products.
Country Accents Needlework has been attracting people from Woodstock and Hamilton, as well as Brantford, owner Brenda Sirkia said.
"I've had this store for years and I used to have home decor in it as well," Sirkia said. "But there are a lot of home decor shops out there now. There's a lot of competition for that sort of thing so I decided to shift my focus and specialize on needlework.
"Now, it's a needlework shop only." She said there are few specialty
needlework shops. One in Hamilton closed and other similar stores are in Mississauga and London.
Sirkia, who has been doing needlework for more than 36 years, carries charts, fabric, beads, specialty threads and accessories.
The store, at 399 Colborne St., is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m.

Well I'm back again. I was so pleased to see the Brantford Expositor put a little article in the paper regarding my shop. Hurray! Hurray!!!! Now to important things............WEATHER!!!!!!!
I can't believe the weather here in Ontario. I think every morning that I wake up, I am back in BC. With all of this rain and dampness, it makes you wonder where you are. I am still waiting for summer. Oh well, I guess every day that I get up in the morning makes it a good day, eh?
I had an order come in the other day and it was a few of Nora Corbett's pixie collection. They are just beautiful.

Finally

Well, I finally got this started. Thank you for being patient with this blog. I have also been busy doing my web page, so those of you who would like to see it, please visit www.countryaccentsneedlework.com
It has been very interesting to say the least. I usually just play around on the computer such as ordering stock or visiting other needlework sites, but these last few days have been serious work for me......lol

thank's for hanging in there

Ok, this site will be up and running shortly once we get some photo's gathered and put into place.

One thing is for sure the store is one venue which should be on every Stitchers directory, because the any wish list can be filled one way or another.
